HC inching closer, list of House members on the fence

HC inching closer, but still nervous House members to sway

GradeGov membership as of March 11  INDEP/DEM = 48% GOP = 52%

The Speaker is holding numerous behind the scenes meetings with the entire Dem. House membership in an effort to garner the 216 votes needed to pass HC in the House. She is struggling with two aspects, the gimmick she will use to pass it w/out ever having an actual vote on the bill and the Trust and Faith promise. The first issue can be seen in this 90 sec video. In a nutshell the House operates under “rules” resolutions passed for each bill on the house floor. These Rules resolution outline the parameters by which bills get debated on the floor. The Speaker will construct a “rule” for when the House considers the reconciliation bill (the bill designed to make changes to the Sen. HC bill) so when they vote on the reconciliation bill, and the Senate follows suit, the full Health Care bill will be DEEMED passed thru the House. NO VOTE will be cast on the Health Care bill that will effect every American citizen! Watch it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFUemyvaObEThe second issue is the Trust issue. She must convince 216 members of the House that passing this reconciliation bill is good for cleaning up the Senate HC bill to the American people’s liking. Then they must trust that the Senate will not make any changes, otherwise the House members that voted for it will be snookered again. They voted in Nov. for the huge “public option” health care bill and it went no where in the Senate. They voted again for the reconciliation-fix bill to clean up the HC bill and it goes no where in the Senate. Lots to buy off on when the feeling of trust is not real strong.
